Our dressage training facility is 100% team-oriented, as we strive to achieve international standards of excellence, and success.

Teamwork is at our core, as we support each other through the training process. This “teamwork” makes the "dreamwork", horses and riders rise through the levels to international quality dressage and perhaps a spot on the Canadian Team. Our individual goals vary, but as a team, we train with a passion and commitment that creates a motivating and inspiring environment and are achieving great results both at home and in the competition arena. (click on link to our mission statement and core values). We offer mentoring and training for Junior and Young Rider's, training for apprentices and a working student program where riders can work on the farm operations in exchange for having the opportunity to ride high quality, trained horses.

The Training:

Developing top FEI dressage horses, and riders, is Shelley’s lifelong passion. Over the course of the last three decades, Shelley has produced multiple horses to the open Grand Prix Championships, including Pan Am Selection Trials and Los Angeles Olympic Festival. She is currently competing in Grand Prix Open division. Shelley has trained and studied closely with Conrad Schumacher, Johann Hinnemann and Leslie Reid, all Olympic Level Coaches. Shelley is a certified high performance Equestrian Canada Dressage Coach and a US Dressage Federation Advanced Certified Coach and USDF Gold Medal Rider (1994).

Shelley offers dressage training clinics in the US and Canada.

The Horses:

We provide full training services for horses and riders that are based at our training facility in Langley, B.C. and in facilities nearby. We provide training for young prospects, and training rehabilitation for horses that are returning to work. Finding great horses in Europe, Spain or North America for clients, is another aspect of the services we provide.

Working closely with our breeding partner Molly Brewer in Ferndale, Washington, we have a small breeding program that is producing fantastic offspring from our competitive dressage mares and some of the most sought-after dressage performance stallions in the world.

We are always seeking training partnerships, sponsors, and likeminded dressage enthusiasts who want to join us on this journey. View our sales page to find opportunities to buy, lease, or partner on some excellent prospects that we have!

NEED A VACATION? COME STAY, RELAX, AND TRAIN!

Dressage training is about going deeply into your skills and honing your craft as you cultivate a relationship of harmony and self-carriage with your horse. Many of our clients enjoy coming to our farm and staying in their RV/LQ for a deep dive into their training, away from all the distractions and challenges of daily life. Come enjoy the sanctuary of our park-like environment while training daily. Our farm is located near a beautiful horse park for conditioning on hills, or simply getting out and enjoying the woods and majestic views with your horse.

LESLIE REID

LESLIE REID

I have been working closely with Leslie Reid, one of Canada’s highly awarded and respected dressage coaches, on my select competitive horses.  She is an outstanding trainer, and a very capable competitive coach.

CONRAD SCHUMACHER

CONRAD SCHUMACHER

Shelley and I started working together with the Jr/Young Rider Training clinics in the US that her competitive students attended, and then a few years later, she was able to come to Germany with several horses to train with me for four months. I have now, over the years, seen her train a wide spectrum of different kinds of horses, and many students. She has proven herself to be effective and adaptive, while totally dedicated to training horses in the logical, systematic training program that I teach. I believe she has the ability and depth to be an international rider, and I am supporting her, in going for this dream, that she has held all of her life. We continue to work together as much as possible, despite the distance, and I consider Shelley to be one of my many North American students who has dedicated herself to learning and working within my training system.

JOHANN HINNEMANN

JOHANN HINNEMANN

I have had the privilege to ride with Johann Hinnemann, since I was a competitive Young Rider.  His credentials need no summary, as he is widely considered to be one of the top International Dressage Coaches in the world.  We are lucky to be able to host clinics in Vancouver with Mr. Hinnmeman twice a year, and train with him closely every winter season at his farm in Murieta, California.

Shelley Lawder is someone who I have known since the mid nineties when we both worked together at the Acres, my equestrian facility in Moorpark, California.  Shelley's talent stands out with her riding and training ability, having a deep and clear perspective of both horses and riders and the direction that they need for success.  Her successful and lengthy experience as an FEI rider is an asset in helping the riders attain their goals, her skills of teaching both the horse and rider in a descriptive and fun manner is always apparent. For the past year, Shelley has been organizing clinics for me in the Vancouver area, always looking to broaden her knowledge and helping the community with dressage advancement. Overall, Shelley is a wonderful trainer and teacher, with so much to offer. Visit Jan's website here.
